Our team was in great spirits. Michael Berger (Artist Relations and Product Manager) and Amber Calhoun-Berger (Press Coordinator and ENGL Assistant USA) organized the booth. Working hand in hand with Christian Schlossarek from the German-based sales and marketing headquarter that coordinates all ENGL business affairs worldwide, the US team was supported via Internet and phone on a daily basis. Our new US distributor Tyme Rogers (Velvet Distribution) was also present at the booth to look after the dealership.
Visitors to the ENGL booth ranged from potential dealers to promising new talents and established musicians, all with one thing in common, anxious to see ENGL at the NAMM show. It was great to see the positive response. At times our booth was not big enough to accommodate the interested attendees.
Not only were people astonished by the design and looks of the gear, in addition they were drawn to the versatility and flexibility of the amps. Whether the Special Edition, Powerball and Invader Heads or the Combos and rack gear, the visitors were amazed by the contemporary and traditional vintage tones and the fast response and clarity of the sounds the amps create.
Our signing sessions were a tremendous success. When Ronnie James DIO and Craig Goldy appeared we couldn't believe what we saw: An unbelievably huge crowd lining up in the hallway. Namm ordered special security to help with crowd control, Hall E was buzzing with excitement. As Ronnie and Craig were signing a very special treat occurred when Steve Morse made a surprise visit as he was in town playing a gig with the Dixie Dregs & Steve Morse Band. Chris Impellitteri, Bob Kulick and Doug Aldrich signed on Saturday. Once again, our booth had a tremendous amount of activity with interested fans of our amazing endorsers (thanks for all your support!).
Other notable booth attendees included Rudolf Schenker (Scorpions), Michael Wagner (producer), Michael Bradford (producer), Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol/Vince Neil), Uli Jon Roth and Jose de Castro.
Another Namm highlight came from guitar player Chris Broderick (Jag Panzer and Nevermore). Chris was on hand every day demonstrating the amplifiers. His presence drew in a lot of interested fans and guitar fanatics. What a great guitar player!
Our Namm experience would not be complete without mentioning the support from our worldwide distributors that stopped by the booth during the four days. It was great to meet people from all corners of the world that feel as passionate about ENGL as we do.
The 105th Namm Show closed with a record-breaking finish. Registration, exhibitors and international attendance was an all-time record high for the event. A better year could not have been chosen for ENGL to debut at the Namm show.
We are confident musicians in the United States are ready to experience the innovative advanced technology of ENGL and share our passion for remarkable design, contemporary and traditional vintage tones in the finest tube flavors and quality. ENGL will surely continue its success in the United States music industry as it has achieved worldwide.
We are looking forward to coming back next year to the 2008 Winter Namm Show.
Hope to see you there.
